Shibam works as a PhD research fellow at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore, in the Department of Materials Engineering. Tissue engineering and Biomaterials are his areas of research interest.
The esteemed Prime Minister Research Fellowship has been awarded to him. He has previously been awarded the DST INSPIRE Fellowship. His main areas of interest in the study are creating Bio-ink, 3D Bioprinting, Cell Therapy, and Tissue Engineering.
On an educational front, he obtained a Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, with Distinction, Gold Medal, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from the West Bengal University of Technology with Institute Distinction.
In addition, he has experience in industrial research and worked as a scientist at the Cipla R&D Centre in Mumbai.
Aside from studies, Shibam enjoys watching and participating in sports with an intense zeal. He used to represent a distinct calibre of leather ball cricket, though.
